How to Install Windows using a DVD


A DVD is a digital versatile Disk and its a storage media. Windows always comes on a DVD that is only obtained from the authorized distributors and comes with a product key.

Lets go through these steps;
1. Obtain a copy of windows DVD from an authorized distributor. It can be any version of your interest or that which can meet your need. There are a number of versions such as Windows xp, Vista, windows 7, 8,10.

2. Get the computer that requires a fresh windows copy and it has to be meeting the minimum requirements. By this it should have enough storage capacity, the processor architecture, the memory size DVD ROM among others as listed on the Microsoft website

3. Insert the Windows DVD obtained in the drive and restart your computer

4. Press the F-keys and go to the BIOS Setup. It can be F2, F12 depending on the manufacturer of the computer. Change the boot sequence and set the the DVD drive as your primary booting device.

5. It will prompt you to "press any key to boot from the drive......", press the key and proceed to the main window for installing windows.

6. Follow the prompts and format the drive, create partitions and allow the the operating system to be installed in your primary partition.

It works on windows 7, 8 and 10
